Bring the character into an everyday garment.
The goal is one personal Field Jacket prototype. The September 26 brief proposes a hip-length navy hooded jacket with sage accents, turquoise textile trim, useful pockets and restrained cream side tabs. The RL emblem sits on the left chest, a smaller badge on the right sleeve, and the back stays unbranded. The trim is non-powered; the first version has no electronics.
The illustration helps describe placement and silhouette. A maker still needs to resolve fabric, seams and fit, and use the original logo artwork for an embroidery test. There is no physical sample or clothing launch at this stage.
See the concept in motion.
A short workshop study puts the visual direction into an ordinary moment: opening a laptop, switching on a warm desk lamp, then getting back to the work.
Choose the route before buying materials.
The brief leaves two routes open: customize a suitable existing jacket, keeping its fit and pockets where possible, or develop an original pattern and sample. Full panel placement may need the second route. A maker's assessment comes before approving a base garment or materials.
Budget, reference fit and construction are still open. The next useful step is to bring a well-fitting jacket and the items its pockets need to carry into that assessment.
Give the future sample ordinary jobs.
Reach overhead. Sit down. Open a loaded pocket. Put on a backpack and turn with the hood up. The proposed review sheet turns those actions into questions about pulling, bulk, access and comfort. Cleaning and a second check after any revision belong in the same record.
Those wear checks are still ahead. For now, the concept and brief give the first sample a clearer job to do.
Based on the six-page Field Jacket prototype brief v0.2, dated 26 September 2026, the later emblem-corrected concept illustration, and the workshop concept clip supplied for this 12 October update. The video is AI-generated and uses my likeness. The brief is for assessment and quotation. No maker acceptance, final materials, cost, fit or wear-test result is established.
